Our Staff

The Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley's staff is the heart and soul of this organization. Each Director has an incredible passion and enthusiasm for working with children. This team of Directors works 
tirelessly to ensure that we support all children. All Directors have participated in numerous 
training's centered around social skills development and conflict resolution by Donna Shea of the Peter Pan Center and Nadine Briggs of Simply Social Kids. All staff is certified in CPR/First Aid, attended an 
Epilepsy training and must go through Mass CORI and National Background checks to be employed with us.

Wendy Allegrone-Leslie, Executive Director
Wendy graduated from Wheaton College in 2001 with an Economics Degree. Soon after, she began working part time at The Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley as a Girls Director. After realizing that this was something she wanted to pursue as her career, she moved to a full time Program Director position, which she held for 5 years. Wendy loved her job at the Club, but knew it was time to move on professionally and was hired as the Director of Recreation in Brewster, MA. In the three years, Wendy held this position, she increased program offerings by 200%, funded and spearheaded the construction of the first "Quick Start" tennis courts in New England, and raised revenue by 55% each year.
In 2010, Wendy was offered the Executive Director position at the Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley.  She took the position knowing that, due to increased costs and cuts in funding, the Club was on the verge of closing. Wendy was determined to get the Club back to its once strong financial state. The Club is now thriving and is serving more youth than in the history of the organization.  Wendy is an American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Instructor.  She trains all staff members yearly in First Aid and CPR.  

Jenn Kuo, Director of Development
Jenn graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2011. At UNH, she majored in Nutrition & Wellness, with a minor in Business Administration, and a concentration in Public Health. Shortly after graduating, Jenn started at the Club as a volunteer at the after-school program for two months before being hired as the Program Supervisor & Coordinator.  Jenn has been able to apply her passion for Wellness in adapting Club programs to be more focused on overall health and well-being in the community.  After five years at the Club, in 2016 Jenn is transitioning to the Director of Development to continue her passion for working at the Club in a different capacity.

Nikki Tyler, Director of Operations
Nikki graduated from Westfield State University where she majored in Liberal Studies with concentrations in Education, Psychology, and English. Nikki became a member of the Boys and Girls Club of Assabet Valley when she was in third grade, and later became a volunteer. After spending many younger years at the Club, Nikki was hired as a counselor at the age of 15. She continued to follow her passion of working with children and stayed working at the Club part-time through college. In 2009 Nikki was named The Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley's Youth of the Year for her community service and positive enrichment to the club. In September of 2013, Nikki was hired as the Club's Girls Empowerment Director where she created incredible programming for the Club's female population to help lead them towards healthy attitudes, habits, and lifestyles.  In 2016, Nikki will be taking on the role of the Clubs Director of Operations. She s now taking on the responsibilities of all aspects of the Club's programs and the facility.
