Volunteer Coaches Needed
The success of all our basketball leagues depends greatly upon volunteer coaches. If we do not get volunteers to coach these programs, the number of participants accepted could be seriously effected. Volunteers interested in coaching or being an assistant coach should indicate interest on the registration form or e-mail allegrone@bgcav.org.
Basketball Programs
Grade: Kindergarten
Kinder-Dribblers is a great introductory course to the skills of basketball. These little b-ballers will be learning the basics and having a great time putting their excess energy to good use! Lowered hoops will be used.
Grades: 1st &2nd
Let’s play some hoops!!! These Hoopsters will have a great time developing their fundamental skills. Lowered hoops will be used.
The Maynard Recreation Basketball Program plays in the Nashoba Youth Basketball League. This is an instructional youth league for boys & girls in grades 3rd - 8th. The league is currently comprised of teams from Berlin, Bolton, Harvard, Lancaster, Maynard & Stow. The goal of the league is to promote youth basketball in a fun, safe and instructional format for the kids to learn and play. The Boys and Girls Club of Assabet Valley will once again offer a travel basketball program in the Central Massachusetts Youth Basketball League (CMYBL) for the upcoming 2011/2012 season.
This CMYBL travel basketball program is a potential option for those boys and girls seeking a higher level of competition against teams from other towns. The level of competition and commitment for this CMYBL travel teams are extremely competitive and may not be an option for everyone.
