BOYS & GIRLS CLUB PROGRAMS
The Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley offers its members a variety of activities and programs to choose from.  From sports programs, arts & crafts, tutoring, getting involved with the community, hanging out with friends or training to be a counselor, The Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley has something that is right for you!

 Money Matters Fun Club

The Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley in coordination with Middlesex Savings Bank is starting a new program to teach members the importance of saving money.  The program is open to the first 12 members under the age of twelve to register.  Members will perform various task and community service projects throughout the community and in-turn the Boys & Girls Club will make a deposit in each members account.  Additional after each deposit is made the members will be entered in monthly drawings to win Movie Tickets, Six Flag Tickets, Baseball Tickets and Water Country tickets.  For more information please contact Pat Bishop at bishop@bgcav.org.



Summer Program

Our summer program is organized in 9 one-week sessions from 8:00am-5:00pm (Monday- Friday.)  The program is designed for ages 5-12.  The fee is $135 per week, per child.  All children much sign up to be members of the Club.  The fee for membership is $40 and the membership lasts from July 1, 20010 - July 1, 2011. 

Our summer program is staffed with experienced youth counselors.  They are all certified in CPR and fist aid training.  We add qulaity volunteers and C.I.T.'s (Counselors in Training) to our summer program which helps make our staff to member ratio better than 10-1. 

Our summer program is jam packed with activities and trips sure to satisfy any young child.  Last summer we took trips to: Water Country,  Roll On America, Laser Zone, Plaster Fun Time, Franklin Zoo and went on a Tour of Fenway Park, just to name a few.  To register or for more information e-mail Bishop@bgcav.org.



Sports Programs

Do you like sports? Are you already playing in a sports league but want some more practice? If so come and join our after school sports programs. The Boys & Girls Club offers leagues for boys & girls ages 6 - 13 years old.  Each league is divided into three seperate divisions:  Boys Cadet (ages6-9), Boys Junior (ages 10-13), and Girls (ages 6-13).  The different leagues include: traveling indoor soccer teams, flag football, basketball, wiffle ball and floor hockey. Not only do you get to play your favorite sport but also we keep track of all you statistics. From rebounds in b-ball to how many rushing yards in football, we keep track of where you stand. So if you love sports or want some more practice, come see what we are all about.



 Nike Swoosh Club

Nike Swoosh Club is a program organized for members who want to be more interactive with the sports and activities other than just playing the games.  These members carry the duties of refereeing, keeping score, assisting in coaching, and organizing their own games. 



Power Hour

Everyday after school, the B&G Club offers a Power Homework Hour for every member to have the opportunity to do their homework.  Each member that works on their homework receives Power Points throughout the week.  The members with the highest Power Point total at the end of the quarter receives prizes for their hard work.  The B&G Club has experienced full time college graduates and high school staff on duty to help all members with any problems or questions they might have regarding their homework.

Boys & Girls Club Dances
The Boys & Girls Club hots monthly dances, for students grades 6th - 8th.  The dances are held from 7:00pm-9:30pm.  The D.J's will spinn the latest hip-hop, reggae and top 40 dance music all night long.  The proceeds from the dances benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley Scholarship Fund.  The cost to get into the dances are $5 for members and $7 for non-members. All dances are properly chaperoned and are in respect of all Boys & Girls Club rules.



Smart Moves

SMART Moves is a prevention program geared towards the club's youth and is primarily designed to help kids become aware of the dangers of such issues including: drugs, alcohol, smoking, peer pressure, internet safety, bullying issues and much more.  The program is separated into KidSmart (ages 6-9), Street SMART ages (10-13), SMARTGirls (all ages), and NetSmartz (internet safety for allmembers).  Each group meets once a week to discuss these issues.



C.I.T. Program

The counselor in training program is a leadership and character development program for members ages 13-15.  The C.I.T.'s gain valuable training in the field assisting the staff in the activities and programs that the club provides, as well as classroom like training and one on one evaluation.
